SVSG Bhangra Club is a non-profit organization which promotes Punjabi Culture through teaching Punjabi folk dance Bhangra and Gidhha, and Punjabi cultural values.
Sada Virsa Sada Gaurav Bhangra Club was formed in 2001 by Jasbir Singh Pannu and Kulwinder Singh Bajwa. They both are active in cultural acitivities sing 1991. It started with students of all ages, but now operates as a junior club, accepting girls and boys from age six.
The group's name reflects the mandate of the club: not only dance, but a way of being. Manners are taught as much as dance: how to speak, how to sit, how to behave. Respect for all and equality of all are fundamental to the teachings. Sada Virsa Sada Gaurav enforces a drug-free message, hoping to instil in the young dancers enough self-respect and confidence to resist the temptation to engage in drug and gang activity that may lure them in their teens.
Anyone interested in joining or learning more about bhangra can contact Jasbir Singh Pannu at 604-807-4540 or Kulwinder Singh Bajwa at 604-825-2845 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
